Regional Director, Training and Employee Development

Las Vegas Regional Office - Road Warrior: Travel 50-75%

Report to the Regional VP, Employee & Organizational Development and has a dotted line reporting relationship with Corporate University and supports Corporate’s Mountain West Central Region headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada and serves Divisions currently in Las Vegas, Albuquerque, Dallas, Denver, Phoenix and Houston.

The Regional Director, Training & Employee Development meets the Region’s individual and organizational development needs through a tailored mix of learning strategies.

Conducts training and development needs assessments for targeted jobs/functions.
Uses state of the art instructional design principles and techniques to research best practices; designs course curriculum; develops courses/materials and delivers instructional strategies that achieve stated learning objectives.
Coordinates instructional design, development and delivery recommendations with Corporate University to ensure consistency with Corporate’s overall development strategies and standards.

Areas of focus include new home sales, mortgage, customer service and overall professional development of Region employees.



Requirements
Works closely with Region/Division sales and operations management teams to determine needs and priorities resulting in a comprehensive sales and professional development training curriculum.

Determines instructional methods such as print-based or on-line self-study, individual coaching, demonstrations, classroom-based instruction, action learning or meetings, conferences and workshops with guidance from Corporate University.

Selects, develops and/or modifies existing training materials such as: facilitator/participant guides, demonstration models, performance aids, multimedia visual aids and on-line or print-based reference materials and tailors them to specific Region and Division needs with oversight from Corporate University.

Formulates lesson plans and identifies and utilizes internal content experts to assist in the delivery of training. Ensures content experts have adequate platform and facilitation skills.

Schedules and facilitates Corporate University sales and other professional development training, identifies content experts or outside vendors, assists with classroom setup, reviews course evaluations with and provides coaching to instructors.

Coordinates participant registration, classroom set-up, materials preparation and input of participant course completion data in Corporate University’s System.
Delivers all training using adult learning principles and techniques.
Achieves Corporate University certification in and delivers applicable Corporate University courses throughout the Region based on and Regional initiatives.
Provides sales and professional skills development throughout the Region upon request.
Evaluates transfer of learning and provides monthly reports to management and Corporate University.

Requirements:
College degree, equivalent experience and training (5 or more years) or a combination of college courses and experience equating to at least 5 years in a related field.
+ Minimum of 2 years experience in course development and delivery of sales and professional development curriculum in a business setting.
Knowledge of the home construction industry and new home sales a plus
Proficiency using computer office skills in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team.
Ability to travel 50 to 70%, or as required.
Effective communication skills with all levels of management and employees.
Strong planning and organizing skills with meticulous attention to detail. Proven presentation and facilitation skills.
Demonstrated instructional design skills.
